Peter Wilcox Mrs. Murray 3rd Period Fifteen Minutes of Nature I couldn’t agree more with Annie Dillard when she stated, “it’s all a matter of keeping my eyes open,"(109) as I sat on the deck of my uncle’s house, wondering what could possibly be the logic in an assignment involving watching and recording all the excitement taking place in a back yard for fifteen minutes. Now, I’m not much of a philosopher, but I have my disagreements with Dillard’s point of view that people are missing out on what’s really going on in the universe because they don’t examine every atom that makes up the cookie they’re eating.
